Tiger Woods Wins the Masters and Achieves One of the Greatest Comebacks of All Time

The thought was unfathomable. The thought of  after numerous back and knee surgeries, a huge scandal which left the world shocked, Tiger Woods would win another major again. It was just unimaginable. But Tiger is one to prove everyone wrong. The 43 year old walked the grounds of Augusta National at the Masters with thousands of spectators surrounding him on every single shot. 

They wanted a win from him, and Tiger wanted it too. 

Tiger Woods entered the final round on Sunday trailing by two strokes, but history was against him. Tiger Woods had never won a major when trailing starting the final round, winning every one of his previous 14 when he had the lead or tied. This Sunday, however, would be far different from any of the others we have seen before. This was a different Tiger, a man who had revolutionized a game thought to be boring and unathletic to its highest peak possible. A man who had every high and every low thought possible by any athlete. Now with a major win drought of 11 years, it was time for the big cat to have an encore, and to show all the young players he was tracking down in the final round whom he had influenced when they were growing up, he never went away. Tiger would start slowly, but would gain momentum on the back nine at Augusta with three birdies in a four hole stretch. Meanwhile a bunch of young and hungry players in front of him were making charges as well, but would falter as Tiger would gain more and more control as the day went on. The day felt like the vintage Tiger we all remember, prowling the golf course in his Sunday red, unintimidated, and unmatched. It’s a comeback story going way beyond just winning a golf tournament. This meant more. It showed when you are down and counted out by everybody,  it’s up to you on how you come back from it. Tiger Woods is like all of us, he’s a human who makes mistakes. Tiger didn’t have to come back and try one more time in his forties, but he wanted to, one last time. This isn’t just the greatest comeback in golf, it’s one of the best comebacks in the history of sports.
