Rory Mcilroy and NBC Launch Revolutionary Membership For The Avid Golfer

People are always trying to get others to get into the game of golf and grow the sport, but it’s becoming very difficult for this to happen. Golf Channel is taking one step closer though with their new membership for golfers. GOLFPASS is the best of golf in one convenient membership. Golf Channel describes it as “the must-have membership for anyone who loves the game. This feature-packed program includes GOLFPASS original shows and GOLF fan favorites, a free round of golf every month, a free dozen TaylorMade golf balls, 400+ hours of world-class instruction, exclusive travel tips, a $100 travel credit at popular resorts and more!” You can find out more about the benefits of GOLFPASS here. Their branding ambassador is professional golfer Rory Mcilroy. Mcilroy has been one of the top golfers in the world since 2011. Mcilroy is one of the most well-known golfers in the world as well, so it was pretty easy for the GOLFPASS team to endorse him. Mike McCarley, President of GOLF and NBC Sports said, Rory is the perfect partner for GOLFPASS, not only because he’s an approachable, genuine and global ambassador for golf – much in the same way Mr. Palmer was – he’s also eager to modernize how golfers engage with the sport in their daily lives, whether watching a screen or with a club in their hand.”  Mcilroy is really passionate about this new membership, saying he wanted to continue a legacy started by one of the most influential golfers to ever play the game. “Golf has been a constant in my life, a passion I share with millions of others. Creating GOLFPASS with NBC Sports was driven by my desire to enrich the golf experience for fans all around the world,” said McIlroy. “Arnold Palmer showed tremendous vision when founding GOLF Channel in 1995 and it now stands as a significant part of his legacy. I have the utmost respect for the impact he made on the game and I will carry that spirit forward by helping to lead our sport into its digital future with GOLFPASS.” With all the benefits and perks of this new revolutionary membership, it’s hard not to see how this will get more people into the game of golf.

  1. Very nice blog! As a collegiate golfer, it is nice to see that the Golf Channel is trying to brand and target to a younger audience as the game can be portrayed as old, boring, and out-dated.
